The Full Story:

Finding the right foundation can be a life long mission. Some women will never find the perfect shade. I had been searching for my dream base for around 12 years. My first attempts were terrible. I used a sachet that was free with a teen girls magazine, and I purchased a no name brand from a local market. Both times I ended up orange in public. 10 years and a lot of wasted cash later, I have learned a lot about cosmetics. I’ve tried most drug store brands of foundation and a few high end brands. There was always a problem with them. The skin between my eyebrows would become crumbly and flaky, or pores would become visible on my cheeks, or I’d break out in spots on my chin.

Revlon’s ColorStay Foundation is the first Revlon product I have ever purchased. I paid around £10 for the bottle I am currently using. I use it around 3 – 5 times a week and have been using it for about 6 months. There’s not much left, but I would say that 6 months usage is definitely worth the asking price.
My skin is an annoying combination of normal, oily and dry. In the past, I had only bought facial products aimed at oily skin in the hope this would balance out my skin. This time I chose the foundation aimed at normal/dry skin, and I’m amazed by the results. No flakiness, no visible pores, and thanks to Colourstay’s oil free formula, no shiny patches either.
The coverage is perfect for me. I’d say its medium coverage, which I top up with concealer where needed. The shade is spot on. (Similar shade to and a good alternative to the foundation I previously I used, Benefit’s Jax Playsticks, which the company went and discontinued!) It’s the most lightweight formula I have ever used without a doubt. Once on, your skin feels silky smooth to the touch. It lasts all day for me, even on a hot day. The only time it comes off is when I’m wearing my thick rimmed glasses. It will rub off the bridge of my nose. To be fair, I don’t know of any thing that could stop this from happening, apart from holding you spec’s above your nose at all times.

After 6 months of using Revlon ColorStay I am giving it  10/10! I’ll be picking up a new bottle soon, and please, Revlon, if you read this, don’t do a Benefit on me, and discontinue my shade!
