Bloggers Grilled Blog Series – Call Me Liz
Tell me about your childhood.
I grew up with my mum and older sister in a little town called Burntwood in Staffordshire. Even though my mum was a single parent I never missed out on anything we always went on holiday and I would spend the six weeks holiday with my grandparents, which was great. Me and my sister would sometimes fall out as siblings do, but I always looked up to her, as she was way cooler than me!
I didn’t enjoy primary school that much because I looked rather geeky with glasses and goofy teeth so it was sometimes a struggle to fit in but once I found make-up and hit high school things improved massively.
If you could sing one song on X Factor, what would it be?
As I am a massive fan of Beyonce (I’ve seen her live three times) it would have to be her hit Run the World (Girls). The lyrics are not too hard for me to remember either!
Describe your biggest weakness. Then describe another.
My biggest weakness is that I tend to overthink situations and then worry about it after.
Another weakness would be resisting chocolate and crisps. I love them both!
If you were a box of cereal, what would you be and why?
I would be lucky charms because I have been quite lucky in the past winning two holidays!
Who is your hero, and why?
I am going to say my mum because she has worked so hard and been through so much and she’s still smiling. Whenever I need to have a chat or ask for some advice shes always there for me.
What’s your biggest regret so far?
Not progressing with my blog earlier. I originally started the blog my first year of university under a different name but hardly wrote anything. Blogging was way less competitive five years ago, so I feel I would of progressed a lot quicker, if I had started it earlier.
What is your coping mechanism when you have a bad day?
If I am at work and having a bad day I move away from my desk and go and get a coffee but at home I try to zone out from the world. Lounging on the sofa, watching my favourite TV show with chocolate of course, usually does the trick!
How lucky are you and why?
I am incredibly lucky, I have an amazing family, the most supportive boyfriend who I live with, my health and a great job what more could I want?!
What was the last gift you bought someone?
I actually bought lots of birthday gifts for my nieces who turned six and one. They are both born in August, so I gave them their presents the same day. There was plenty of toys and clothes for them both.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I should listen before I speak! I am terrible at rambling on and not letting anyone get a word in.
