It’s National Chocolate Week! Oh, you didn’t know? Maybe you’ve been working hard all week and have somehow missed the social media hype, but fear not! There are plenty of ways you can celebrate National Chocolate Week this weekend!
If you’re in London – I sure wish I could be! – be sure to pop down to the main event, The Chocolate Show at Olympia National Hall where there will be stalls, demonstrations and workshops galore! Everyone else: You’re going to have to come up another way to celebrate the brown stuff. It’s okay though. I’m a certified chocolate addict and I’m here to help. Here’s how you can celebrate National Chocolate Week outside of London and even from your own sofa.
Whittard of Chelsea sells a range of delicious dunkable chocolate spoons: They have milk chocolate, 72% cocoa, chocolate and marshmallow and even a Latte Macchiato Spoon With Mini Marshmallows, combining my two loves of chocolate and coffee. Yum!
Chocolate tea is a diet-proof way to enjoy chocolate. Twinings sells a unique blend of Nutty Chocolate flavoured Assam tea. All the flavour; none of the guilt.
Monin has been creating high quality syrups for decades, but the one I’m most interested in is their Chocolate cookie blend. Stir in to coffee or milkshakes for a chocolate kick.
Hot chocolate is always a hit. 300g of luxury chocolate shavings in a gorgeous vintage-style tin. Suitable for veggies and is gluten free.
The chocolate gift range over at John Lewis is huge right now. My pick of the bunch is this box of adorable icecream cone chocolate truffles.
If it’s quirky chocolate you’re after though, you can’t go wrong with the chocolate gift range over at IWOOT. Right now they are doing 3 for £20 on tons of gifts, including these chocolate egg and soldiers and chocolate sprouts!
And if you want to be really different, how about some chocolate butt holes?… no, really!
Live the choc-life.
Did you know there is a hotel in Bournmouth entirely dedicated to chocolate. You can even have your own chocolate fountain and dip-ables in your room!
Groupon has an offer on a fun chocolate workshop for 2. You’ll spend 2-3 hours learning the basics of chocolate making, creating truffles and giant chocolate buttons, and ending with a battle of the chocolatiers between you and your partner.
Is there a better place to celebrate Chocolate Week than at Cadbury World? This weekend they’re celebrating with all of the Cadbury characters to entertain the kids. There’s also the York Chocolate Story who earlier this week celebrated by creating Kit Kat hanging gardens in nearby parks. Free chocolate for all!
If you are lucky enough to be heading to the London Chocolate Show, why not finish the evening in style? Head down to a showing of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
Make Your Own Raw Chocolate
I tried an Indigo Nutrition Organic Raw Chocolate Starter Kit a couple of years ago and O-M-G, it was one of the best chocolate experiences I’d ever had! Raw chocolate shouldn’t be eaten in large quantities, which is hard because this stuff tastes so good! It filled the house with a powerful aroma of chocolate after melting it on the stove for just a few minutes. It’s expensive, but well worth it imo. Groupon sells a cheaper brand called Hipster Health which I’ve yet to try (but I will, oh yes…for science!).
Too Faced Chocolate Bar has been on my make-up wishlist forever, but for the price of one of those I could buy the whole range of I Heart Chocolate palettes from Superdrug. I think it’s time to go shopping!
Halloween is getting bigger by the year in the UK and I’m seeing more fun chocolate and candy. Hotel Chocolat, Thorntons and John Lewis all have cute chocolate goodies which – let’s be honest here – none of us will be giving out to trick or treaters. We’ll be busy scoffing them on the sofa watching horror films in the dark. How adorable are those Praline Pumpkins though?! ♥
Christmas is a-comin! It’s time to stock up on choccies. I’ll be treating myself to a Thorntons Pudding Selection box this year as I love fruity chocolates, and of course it’s time to start advent calender shopping! There’s an advent round up post coming soon so keep your eyes peeled!
