Christmas is all about togetherness, giving, not receiving and… oh, who am I kidding? Christmas is all about the food! The foodies in our lives make Christmas taste delicious; whether they’re slaving over a hot stove to treat us to a newly discovered festive recipe, or gifting us selection boxes filled with delicacies that we’d never even heard of if it wasn’t for their passion for food. It’s about time we treated them to something they’d love, but what do you get the foodie that’s tasted everything?
A Stand Mixer
If your foodie is serious about baking and they don’t own a food mixer then gifting them is a no brainer: They need a good quality stand mixer in their life. Something like this bold red beauty from Savisto (also available in sleek black). I’ve featured Savisto on the blog in the past because their products are such amazing value. At just £95.99, you’d be hard pressed to find another stand mixer that looks and performs this well at the same price.
It comes with 3 attachments – a whisk, a dough hood and a beater – as well as a handy spatula. I love the high quality stainless steel mixing bowl that comes with a splash guard to prevent food mess! (You’ll see more of Savisto 3-in-1 Retro Food Stand Mixer on the blog when I review it later this month). Click the images to find out more.
Multi-functional Art Work!
Maybe your foodie is more of a diner than a chef. If that’s the case, buy them some useful art work to hang in the kitchen. This useful How To Cook Everything poster from WeArePaperPlane could start them on a new path of food discovery. It covers everything from apple cake to curry. Click the images to find out more.
Or what about this ingenious scratch off food map? A map of Europe covered with local dishes. Once you’ve tried a dish, scratch it off to reveal a colour. I love this idea so much that I’m going to have to treat myself to one…
There are more novelty kitchen items out there than you’ll ever have time to try out. Alessi create some of the best though. How fun are these duck egg timers? They quack when time’s up! Or what about their gorgeous chilli scruncher? Click the images to find out more.
Sometimes, the best gift is one that lasts well beyond Christmas. Food experiences can be booked in advance or even used over and over, like the Taste Card (which by the way, is on sales for just £29.99 over on their website right now). This handy card gives the user 50% off or 2 for 1 on meals at thousands of restaurants around the country.
Or for something extra special, book them in for an afternoon tea at a swish hotel. The H10 Waterloo serves up beautiful views of the London skyline from their roof top bar where, as well as a modern afternoon tea view. The hotel isn’t half bad either. I stayed here a few years ago and had a hard time leaving those views behind.
