Does Teatoxing Work? I Review Slimming Solutions Teatox.

Teatoxing. Have you tried it yet? Everyone seems to be either on a plan or talking about starting one soon. Some people use teatox in an attempt to lose weight, some to stop bloating, some to feel more alert, but do these teas live up to the hype? I recently finished a 2 week TeaTox plan from Slimming Solutions so you’re about to find out!
Who are slimming solutions?

Slimming Solutions is an award winning online retailer that has been around since 2000. They are experts in all things diet and sell an extensive range of weight-loss and shapewear products over on their site.

What does this teatox promise?

The TeaTox page promises that the plan will:
  • Help get rid of unwanted toxins, resulting in a full body detoxing effect.
  • Boost metabolism and reducing cravings.
  • Increase energy levels.
  • Burn fat.

The site also says that “With continuous use of a Teatox you may experience clearer, healthier, and younger-looking skin, increased energy & better overall health.”

My experience.
The plan is very easy to follow. There are two packets. A yellow one for mornings, and a green one for nights. Have one bag from the morning packet at breakfast, and a bag from the night time packet in the evening. Piece of cake! (although we shouldn’t be talking about cake during a detox really…).
The website advises that for best results this should be accompanied by a clean eating plan which you receive with your Teatox. I didn’t follow this plan, but I made sure not to drink any fizzy drinks or eat any junk food (apart from one night that I’ll talk about later).
One thing I was concerned about before beginning the teatox was the warning on the back of the packet stating “May cause a mild laxative effect”. These teas contain Senna, a natural laxative which effects people in different ways. Thankfully I didn’t experience any of that!
Both the morning and evening blends taste good. Of the two, I preferred the night time flavour which contains liquorice and Valerian root, known for helping you nod off. It reminded me of Night Time from Pukka tea. The morning blend isn’t bad, but it’s not very exciting either. Maybe honey or agave would spice things up a little. The teabags should be left to soak for 3 minutes and then removed, but as I like my tea strong I left my bags in the cup.

I didn’t notice much change until around half way through my two week teatox. Usually I have a slump around 10 – 11am . Five or six days in I noticed how alert I was feeling mid-morning. I was suddenly finding it easier to focus on my work. Could this be the ginseng? Or possibly the Valerian root was helping me to get some quality sleep, therefore reducing my morning energy flops?

As mentioned above, the wibsite claims that teatox helps you to burn fat. I always take these claims with a pinch of salt, so I was surprised when I weighed myself after 1 week and found I’d lost 2lb. This was even though my partner had ordered a Chinese takeaway one night during the week.

Finally, I found that the morning teas really helped with my bloating. I’ve started to experience bloating increasingly over the past year. This was a welcome relief from the usual discomfort.
So, did Slimming Solutions Teatox deliver what it promised?
  • Remove toxins? This is something I have no way of measuring so I simply don’t know for sure, but I felt cleaner, if that makes sense.
  • Boost metabolism and reduce cravings? I ate less junk food, and as the gradually the chocolate monster in my head stopped screaming about needing it’s daily feed.
  • Increased energy levels? Yes! More than expected.
  • Burn fat? I did experience a 2lb loss, but I can’t be sure this is 100% down to the tea.
  • Anything else? Teatox helped beat my bloating.
Conclusion:

Please, do your research before trying any health related product. The results I experienced in this post may not be the same for you.

I would recommend Slimming Solutions Teatox to anyone who is interested in giving their body a kick start, maybe at the beginning of a new eating plan or weight loss programme. I’d also recommend it to anyone who is having bloating problems as a way of easing things. If you do have gut problems please do some research and/or ask your GP for advice before trying any detox/teatox/supplements.

Will you lose a ton of weight on this plan? No, probably not by drinking the teas alone, but I did experience some weight-loss whilst on Teatox.

Would I do it again? Yes! Mainly for the anti-bloating effects and the impact it had on my mornings. I enjoyed not having that daily slump!

Disclaimer: The kind folk at Slimming Solutions offered me a trial teatox in exchange for a review. All views are my own and I would never endorse a product I didn’t believe in.

  • Ohh I’ve never heard of these before! But they sound good may have to make a purchase!

  • Never heard of these before, they sound amazing!

  • I tried this tea too and thought it was rancid, the evening tea tasted like lime pickle from an indian restaurant mixed with celery! Not to my tastes at all. However I have used Bootea and found it to be amazing! xxx

    • No way! I didn’t think it was that bad myself. I have heard good things about Bootea. Do you suffer with bloating at all? If so did you find Bootea helped with that?

  • I’ve never heard of this product before, nice to hear that you got on with them so well.

  • I have never heard of teatox before but since I am a tea lover this is definitely welcome. Thanks for the honest review

    • I’m a bit tea mad myself, Miranda. When I see a new one in the supermarket I have to try it!

  • I’d never really thought of trying these teas – but if they could help get me through my morning tiredness and help me sleep better then I’m all for it! Really great review 🙂
